| WHAT SHOULD I WEAR? |
We recommend that you wear shorts (better for grip on the pole) or jogging bottoms are fine, t-shirt or vest tops are suitable – anything comfortable. Beginners normally have bare feet. High heels can also be brought along but these are optional.
We have a range of vests available to purchase at class.
We ask that you do not wear any body moisturisers/ self tan/creams etc on the day of the class as this makes the pole slippery and dangerous. |

Not at all. 99% of our students come to us as complete beginners. Our classes are aimed towards the complete beginner and we teach you everything step by step.
We have multi pole studios and 2 instructors so we split every class so you will be in a class with people of the same ability. |
| I’VE DONE POLE DANCING BEFORE ARE THE CLASSES SUITABLE? |

We have multi pole studios and 2 instructors so we split every class so you will be in a class with people of the same ability. |
| DOES IT MATTER THAT IM UNFIT / OLDER / NOT SKINNY /NERVOUS/ SHY/ NO RHYTHM/ CAN’T DANCE etc |
Please do not worry we have age ranges up to 60+. The women we teach come in all shapes and sizes – many new mums wanting to lose baby weight, people wanting to tone up, people wanting to try something more fun than the gym. You come to us to get fit so don’t worry about your fitness levels- we start you off very easy/basic.
Everyone is very nervous / shy to start with, please remember that you will not be asked to do anything you do not want and our instructors are extremely experienced, friendly, qualified and supportive.
Our classes are run with disco/club lighting giving a great atmosphere and we find it helps with our more self conscious students. No studio mirrors and bright lighting.
The classes are designed to improve confidence, fitness levels and overall body shape.
It doesn’t matter if you don’t have any upper body strength as this is completely normal – not many girls do. It’s something that builds up gradually through pole dancing. |
| WILL POLE DANCING TONE ME UP? |
Yes!
You will probably feel very achy after your first few classes and may have a few bruises too. This is because pole dancing is an all over workout and the great thing is the spins and holds really focus on problem areas like arms (bingo wings) and tums. The dancing part is the cardio which aids weight loss and improves fitness levels.
The fun / social element is what makes pole dancing with us different to any other exercise – its easy to keep it up and its enjoyable. |
| ARE THE CLASSES AIMED AT AMETEURS FOR FITNESS OR GIRLS WANTING TO BECOME DANCERS? |
| Our classes are aimed at amateurs wanting to learn to pole dance for fitness and fun. |
| I’D LIKE TO WORK AS A PROFESSIONAL DANCER ARE THE CLASSES FOR ME? |
If you are wanting to become a professional dancer you would benefit from our classes.
Also we can assist with audition routines, club etiquette, outfits and lap dancing through private classes before your auditions. This costs £30 per hr – please contact to book. |
| HOW MANY PEOPLE PER POLE? |
Our classes are never overcrowded. We have plenty of poles and adequate time, we have never had to turn people away due to been too busy – we do send you home tired and you get more than enough time on the pole.
It is our health and safety policy not to give students a pole each as the instructors can only supervise a few poles each. |
| DO YOU TEACH PRIVATE LESSONS? |
We do not recommend private lessons as they work out expensive for you and most beginners can only manage a limited amount of time on the pole before their arms become weak. We recommend that you attend a few classes a week – we teach 2 days a week so why not come to several lessons a week and build your strength quickly and it works out more cost effective for you too.
One on one tuition is £30 an hour. |
| IS POLE DANCING SAFE ? |
| This is a question many people ask now after there were reports of an accident at another Yorkshire Pole dance school. Unfortunately this is a question we cannot answer, all we can do is tell you what health and safety steps we take to cut down any risks. Unfortunately risks cannot be eliminated. Your Instructors are both qualified with the CPD REP’s Register of Exercise Professionals and Skills Active endorsed qualifications in pole fitness, insured, have over 8 years experience and are fully first aid trained (including dance specific injuries). All of our certificates are available to view upon request. The poles we use are X-poles and X-stages which are deemed ‘suitable safe poles’ by insurance companies. Crash mats are used for all inverted moves and your instructors have the relevent silver intermediate qualification needed to teach inverted pole dance moves. We do not give students a pole each so it means you are supervised. We get all students to fill in a health questionnaire prior to taking part to check you are fit and healthy enough to take part. |
