York Pole Dance Academy Exams and Pole Dancing Events

EXAMS

Each one of our students is given the opportunity to work towards pole dance examinations. We use an external verifier from the Pole Dance Association.

The exams are based around IDTA (International Dance Teachers Association) freestyle syllabus.

First Award
Second Award
Bronze
Silver
Gold
Platinum

The exams are optional of course! Starting with a basic First Award Exam (aimed at a student who has attended around 6-8 weeks of lessons). The exams
progressively become more challenging and those with hard work and determination can eventually reach the very top level Platinum.

It takes on average around 4 years to reach platinum. The exams give students of all ability a challenge and something to worthwhile to work towards.
The exams are a way that our dance students can gain recognition and praise for the skills they have mastered. It gives our students a chance to dress up and perform like a superstar! Upon passing you receive a certificate, medal/trophy, feedback sheet from the examiner and a sew on badge for your York Pole Dance Academy vest.

We choreograph and teach you the routines. You can then pick your own music to make the routine your own.

	York Pole Dance Academy Summer Show raised over £500 for the Gaurdian Angels Appeal at York Hospital. An evening of entertainment for students and their friends and families, performances from our instructors and students with a huge raffle to end the evening.

	We take regular field trips to pole dancing clubs usually Silks or Spearmint Rhinos. The Halloween trip was fancy dress then picked up in either a stretch hummer or limosine and taken to the club. These trips really help with the students performance skills with exams in mind. A great social evening too.

	York Pole Dance Academy provided the dancers at the celebrity filled launch of the Jack Vettriano VIP exhibition ‘Fallen Angels’ at the Gascoigne Gallery in Harrogate. Also performing at the Lure Bar Harrogate After party.

	York Pole Dance Academy instructors perform at a charity event in aid of The Parkinson’s Disease Society alongside UK DMC Supremacy champion DJ Matman, Jed 104 and Joe Lung.
